Types of Therapy
LED face masks use light-emitting diode (LED) technology to treat various skin concerns, with different colors of light targeting specific skin issues. The therapy's efficacy is grounded in the specific light spectrum each mask employs, which penetrates the skin to stimulate changes at the molecular level, enhancing skin appearance and health.
Each wavelength, or color of light, stimulates a specific skin response:
Targets deeper fibroblast cells, stimulating new collagen and elastin production, resulting in plumper, firmer, more youthful looking skin.
Reduces inflammation, pigmentation, and redness and helps prompt cellular repair and circulation for a more vibrant complexion.
Neutralizes acne-causing bacteria that causes the redness and inflammation of acne.

What is Red Light Therapy?
Red light therapy, also known as Photomodulation, employs low-level wavelengths of non-invasive light to enhance skin appearance and promote healing. LED light therapy was originally a NASA technology renowned for its wound-healing and inflammation-soothing properties. Devices utilizing red and near-infrared light are proven to reduce wrinkles, fine lines, redness, and pigmentation while enhancing overall skin tone. Sabbskin Skinimalist brings the benefits of red light therapy to your fingertips, allowing you to enjoy clinical-grade treatments in the comfort of your home
How Does it Help Your Skin?
As we age, collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid naturally degrade, leading to wrinkles, thinning skin, and an uneven texture. Exposure to UV rays further contributes to pigmentation and age spots. Sabbskin Skinimalist Facial Mask addresses these concerns with a dual-action approach:

The manipulation of cellular function through low-level, non-thermal LED light is referred to as photobiomodulation (PBM) or low-level light therapy (LLLT). This medical treatment modality is gaining increasing clinical significance. The spectral range from 600 to 1300 nm is particularly beneficial for promoting wound healing, tissue repair, and skin rejuvenation due to its combination of high penetration in the skin and absorption by respiratory chain components.
Unlike traumatic ablative methods (e.g., laser resurfacing) and non-ablative modalities (e.g., intense pulsed light [IPL]) for skin rejuvenation, which induce secondary tissue repair by causing controlled damage to the epidermis or dermis, PBM is atraumatic. It bypasses the initial destructive step by directly stimulating regenerative processes in the skin. The mechanisms of action involve increased cellular proliferation, migration, and adhesion.
Crucial cell types for skin and tissue regeneration, such as fibroblasts, keratinocytes, and immune cells (mast cells, neutrophils, and macrophages), can be stimulated using specific wavelengths with significant tissue penetration properties. PBM avoids the known severe side effects associated with traumatic skin rejuvenation procedures, including inflammation, pain perception, and prolonged social downtime. It has successfully alleviated common symptoms of laser resurfacing and IPL treatment.
Photon emitters, such as lasers or LEDs, have proven effective for PBM, highlighting that the treatment parameters (wavelength, irradiance, and fluence) are likely responsible for the effects, rather than the technical type of light source.
While lasers and LED light sources may have dot-shaped (punctiform) emission characteristics and narrow spectral bandwidths, they also pose some disadvantages. To address this, a polychromatic spectrum covering a broader spectral region may be favorable for skin rejuvenation and repair, considering that the action spectra for tissue regeneration consist of more than one wavelength.
